Recreational classes are non-competitive and not eligible for awards.

There will be no pre-assigned start times for recreational classes.

Groups may enter the recreational courses. Each person in the group should register. Groups may choose to punch individually or with just one e-punch per group. Groups must inform the Starter that they are a Group, and how many punches they intend to use.

NA National relay team members must be from the same Federation in order to be eligible for titles.

Women may compete in the Men's National Team relay.

All Junior Team members' Orienteering ages must be 20 or younger.

All Youth Team members' Orienteering ages must be 16 or younger.

"Club" relay team members must all be members of the same club in order to be eligible for club relay prizes. If team members are not all from the same club, then the team is an "Open" team.

Club and Open teams compete based on points class, and can be mixed gender.

Club and Open teams are deemed to compete in all lesser points classes.

Relay teams must have 3 runners. Teams with less than 3 runners are not eligible for awards.

Relay teams must be declared by 8pm on July 22, 2023. The process for declaring teams will be posted on https://cal-o-fest.com in July.

Any team that has a member under 14 years of age shall also have a member 18 years of age or older.

All participants under 18 must have permission from their legal guardian to take part in the competition

Teams are deemed to compete in every category for which they are eligible.


There will be a Volunteer- and Youth-oriented Fun Rogaine, 4-hours in duration.

It will start at 2 pm and finish at 6 pm on July 29, 2023.

It will use the same Start, Finish and Map as the World Rogaining Championships.

If you volunteer at the World Rogaining Championships for more than 4 hours, you will receive a significant discount for the Fun Rogaine.

The Fun Rogaine can be used towards the CORONA award.

There will be modest, fun awards for the top three teams in each class.
